Raven’s Pursuit selected to deliver functional fitness program for Hope Academy
Greensboro, NC- July 31, 2017
Raven’s Pursuit has been selected by Hope Academy to deliver its functional fitness curriculum for the upcoming academic year.
Raven’s Pursuit, a newly formed Greensboro non-profit organization committed to providing transformative experiences for Triad youth, operates on the premise that functional fitness programs have the ability to teach the value of community, build confidence, and equip youth with transferable skills that have the potential to impact the trajectory of their lives.
Hope Academy, a 5th through 8th grade, local, independent school is founded upon the principles of educating, encouraging, and equipping for success socioeconomically disadvantaged youth in the Florida Street corridor of Greensboro. Hope Academy’s focused and intentional academic work is designed to advance students onto or above grade level before they graduate to matriculate at other local high schools.
As if by divine providence, this partnership between a nonprofit focused on delivering high quality functional fitness programming to youth in the Triad and an independent school serving exactly such students, in need of a structured fitness program, has been established.
“I cannot imagine a more perfect alignment in objectives between two institutions. The work of Hope Academy is exactly the work that Raven’s Pursuit aims to support. With the eager work of curriculum experts and certified coaches, this is a fantastic opportunity to deliver leading edge fitness training that, in itself, will empower Hope Academy students in ways that they cannot yet even imagine”, Ande Hewitt, President of Raven’s Pursuit, stated in describing this partnership.
Josh Mullins, Head of School at Hope Academy added, “Hope Academy is excited to partner with Raven's Pursuit to further educate, encourage, and equip our students physically. The positive, supportive, and team-oriented philosophy of CrossFit will certainly be a blessing to our students and their families. We are hopeful that this partnership will create life-long healthy habits for Hope students.”
