Pam Kontogiorgos, Board Chair
Pam has a degree on Exercise Science and has worked for years as a personal trainer, a manager at a fitness facility, and then briefly left the fitness world for corporate America. Her heart has always been in fitness. Now with the opportunity to open the doors of College Hill CrossFit, she has returned to her true passion. The CrossFit fitness program proved itself to Pam through her own experience to be the most effective strength and fitness program that she has experienced. Pam’s leadership at College Hill CrossFit is relentless, attentive, and intense. If your desire is to transform your body, to maximize your fitness, and to recreate your world into one of strength, capability, power, and health in a supportive environment permeated with a culture of possibilities and accomplishment, you should contact her. Ande Hewitt, President
Andrea (“Ande”) is a Healthcare Application Strategist with Herman Miller for Healthcare, where she has been employed since 1998. Ande graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from North Carolina State University. When not at work, Ande volunteers in the community and is an active participant at College Hill CrossFit. Ande is a member of the Page Athletic Booster Club representing the Women’s Field Hockey Team and as an event coordinator for the Page Men’s Alumni Game. She is a member of the Guild of Family Services. And thanks to her husband and son, Ande has come to love the benefits of membership at College Hill CrossFit. Ande’s enthusiasm for service and community, professional experience, and commitment to success will bring long-term strategic planning and fiscal responsibility to the Board of Directors.
Tammy Williams, Vice President
Tammy is a professional educator, currently serving as the Academic Dean at American Hebrew Academy in the Triad. She has a BS degree in Science Education from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, a Master’s in Science Education and an EdD in Science Curriculum and Teaching from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro. Dr. Williams is also an experienced athletics coach, having coached high school and Junior Olympic teams. Dr. Williams brings important knowledge about the science of teaching and the art of communicating with youth that will be valuable to the Raven’s Pursuit Board of Directors.
Steven M. Bull, Secretary
Steve is a corporate retirement plan advisor and actuary at BB&T with a Mathematics degree from the University of Michigan. Since 1983, Steve has provided corporate clients with effective retirement solutions that align employee benefit design and employer costs to achieve retirement security for employees. He has also served the profession by providing continuing education programs on retirement topics. Steve enjoys being active in the outdoors and is a CrossFit athlete. He has non-profit experience as a volunteer including working with Triad youth, serving in prison ministry and a variety of leadership roles.
Melanie Phillips, Treasurer
Melanie is a Financial Sales Manager at First Citizens Bank and has been working in the financial industry since 1997. Her areas of expertise are in real estate and small business lending. She brings extensive knowledge of non-profit finance to the Board of Directors. Melanie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BA in Psychology. She has non-profit experience as a Board of Director and volunteer including educating Triad youth on financial literacy and global economics. Melanie also enjoys being active within the CrossFit community.
Charles Calkin, At Large
Mr. Calkins is a partner at Kilpatrick, Townsend & Stockton LLP. He has more than 25 years of experience in client counseling and portfolio management in patent procurement, licensing, and enforcement. His current practice includes a focus on the corporate and transactional aspects of intellectual property. Mr. Calkins, as a result of his professional pursuits, brings sophisticated knowledge of the business of life sciences to the Raven’s Pursuit Board of Directors. Mr. Calkins is also a lifelong nutrition and exercise enthusiast.
